“ The Confrontation” By: Raymond Barrio People don’t normally realize the importance of values. However, values are often mistaken with pride. “The Fight” written by Richard Wright proves my point. In this story a teenage boy fights another boy in order to show his peers how tough he is and to gain acceptance. In “The Confrontation” by Raymond Barrio, a fruit picker is being mistreated by his boss and feels it isn’t fair. These stories share a common factor, pride. The second story shows how he stood up to his boss, defending his values along with the other fruit pickers. On the other hand the boy from "the fight" felt the need to express the anger
